Ken Stringfellow – musicien, compositeur, producteur et arrangeur – s’est fait connaître dans le paysage indie grâce à son groupe formé en 1988 à Seattle : The Posies. Ce groupe a indubitablement influencé le rock indé et la pop avec, notamment, le légendaire album sorti en 93 « Frostingon the Beater ».
Mais Ken ne s’est pas arrêté là, et a fait partie du groupe Big Star, un des groupe les plus acclamés, de 1993 à la mort d’Alex Chilton en 2010. Il a également passé 10 ans sur la route et en studio avec le groupe REM et à participé à deux albums « Reveal » et « Around the Sun ». Il a collaboré avec de groupes et artistes comme Snow Patrol, Neil Young, Patti Smith, Mudhoney, Death Cab For Cutie…
En 2012, Ken sort son quatrième album solo “Danzig in the Moonlight”. Cet album a été enregistré dans les célèbres studios ICP à Bruxelles et mixé par TheLAB à Los Angeles. Ken a également reçu la contribution de musiciens de Mumbai, Italie, Seattle…
Charity Rose Thielen (The Head & The Heart) chante avec Ken sur le titre « Doesn’t It Remind You of Something », comme si Lee Hazelwood avait coécrit cette chanson avec Leonard Cohen.
L’album est un savant mélange d’inconfort, de tension et de fragilité intense. A l’image du style de vie de Stringfellow, cet album est multi-national, défiant les genres établis et profondément musical.
